The economist and business administrator Andrés Rodríguez Rowe was appointed through the Civil Service System.

President Sebastián Piñera has appointed the economist and business administrator Andrés Rodríguez Rowe as the new director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (InvestChile). The appointment was made through the Civil Service System.

Rodríguez studied economics and business administration at the Universidad Católica de Chile and holds an MBA from Harvard University. He has extensive experience in the management of financial and multinational companies. Before his new appointment, he was a managing partner in a multinational executive search and talent retention company and in a consultancy company specializing in corporate governance.

As an academic, he has taught Strategy and International Business for the Business Administration course and the MBA program of the Universidad Católica and the Universidad del Desarrollo.

Selection process

The process to fill this position began last July with the advertisement of the vacancy on the Civil Service website and in national newspapers. A total of 238 applications were received through the Online Application System and 11 through a specialized search.

Based on the results of evaluations carried out by consultancy companies, the Civil Service Council interviewed 11 applicants and, in October, submitted a list of eligible candidates to President Sebastián Piñera for his final selection.
