InvestChile appoints new investment attaché in Asia

  • Catalina Pérez has already started her new role in Tokyo, Japan.

InvestChile, Chile’s Foreign Investment Promotion Agency, has appointed Catalina Pérez, who previously served as the coordinator of its International Network, as its new investment attaché in Asia.

The executive is already stationed at InvestChile’s office in Tokyo, which has been in operation since 2017 and is located within the Chilean Embassy in Japan.

She holds a degree in agricultural engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and joined InvestChile in February 2019 as an investment promotion executive. She later led the institution’s Asia Desk and coordinated its International Network.

Before joining InvestChile, Catalina worked at Chilean export promotion agency ProChile and the Directorate General of International Economic Relations, focusing on market management with an emphasis on Asia.

In addition to Catalina, InvestChile has five other investment attachés: Vanessa Séverin in Berlin, Germany; Beatriz Herrera in Washington, United States; Francisca Müller in Rome, Italy; Francisco Appelgren in Ottawa, Canada; and Cristián Sagal en Paris, France.

Japan is the leading Asian investor in Chile, with an investment stock that increased from US$2.062 billion in 2017 to US$7.209 billion by the end of 2023. According to figures from the Central Bank, the stock of Asian investment in Chile reached US$10.023 billion in 2023.
