The Minister of Economy, Economic Development and Tourism, Luis Felipe Céspedes, emphasized the importance of Chile as an investment destination at a meeting with a delegation of German businesspeople this morning.

Company executives from sectors such as Energy and Mining, who are accompanying the German president Joachim Gauck on his official visit to Chile, also had the opportunity to hear about the new foreign investment and attraction strategy being promoted by InvestChile and meet its director, Carlos Álvarez.

Minister Céspedes noted that a number of investment opportunities exist in Chile as it has the most competitive economy in Latin America and international markets remain confident. In addition, the minister said that German investment would represent an important advance in the country’s implementation of initiatives to diversify its production matrix.
