Japan’s ambassador to Chile, Naoto Nikai, met with the executive vice-president of the Foreign Investment Committee (CIEChile), Vicente Mira, this morning to discuss the principal areas of collaboration between the two countries.
During the meeting, they also talked about opportunities in the principal economic sectors. In addition, they discussed the two countries’ respective experience in investment promotion strategies and policies and undertook to collaborate with the Japanese business delegations that will visit Chile in the future.
In April this year, CIEChile carried out a successful investment attraction tour of Japan which is Chile’s largest source of foreign direct investment from Asia, accounting for an inflow of over US$3,797 million between 2009 and 2013.
