The workshop was held to collaborate with the Region’s teams in generating capabilities for attracting investment in the area.
InvestChile, the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency, participated in an online workshop with key actors from the Biobío Region to inform them about its work and talk about the opportunities that foreign investment can represent for the area.
The workshop was held in conjunction with the FDI Promotion and Attraction Unit of the Biobío Regional Government’s Economic Development and Industry Division and with support from the San Sebastián University. It was opened by the governor of the Biobío Region, Patricio Kuhn, and the director of InvestChile, Andrés Rodríguez.
Rodríguez highlighted the importance that foreign investment will have in the economic recovery expected this year and the impact that its promotion and development can have in improving the living conditions of families in need. “In this work, the voice of the regions is extremely important and that is why we have a clear objective: to attract more and better foreign investment that has a positive impact on the region and the lives of its inhabitants,” he said.
The workshop included a presentation by Federico Tabja, an advisor to InvestChile, who talked about the Agency and the existing institutional framework for foreign investment, while Rosita Feijoó, InvestChile’s regional coordinator, explained the main aspects of its regional strategic plan.
