As part of its international promotion agenda, InvestChile, in collaboration with the Chilean Embassy in France and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, organized the seminar “Chile: Investment Opportunities for France”, which was held in Lyon.
The event aimed to provide an overview of the business environment in Chile and highlight investment opportunities in sectors such as energy transition, green hydrogen, global services, agribusiness, and infrastructure.
The day before the seminar, the Chilean delegation met with Louis Riquet, Diplomatic Advisor to the Prefect of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral cooperation, reaffirming Chile’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with France.
The seminar was opened by Manuelle Dupuy, Deputy Director General of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, followed by remarks from Raúl Fernández, Chilean Ambassador to France.
During the event, InvestChile Investment Attaché in Paris, Cristián Sagal, presented the main opportunities that the country offers for foreign direct investment.
Along the same lines, Jocelyn Secula, Michelin’s Global Trading Manager for End-of-Life Tires, shared her investment experience in Chile.
Additionally, Guillaume Jousselme, from Bpifrance, gave a presentation on the financial tools available to support the internationalization of French companies interested in expanding to Chile.
The seminal also covered topics related to innovation and sustainability, with the participation of Constanza Levicán, founder and CEO of Suncast, who discussed the use of artificial intelligence and renewable energy. Meanwhile, Claudia de Oliveira Ramos, from Vegepolys Valley, highlighted Franco-Chilean cooperation in the field of sustainable agriculture.
The InvestChile mission to Lyon was supported by Chile’s honorary consul in the city, Ignacio Velasco, and forms part of the agency’s strategy to consolidate Chile’s position as a leading destination for foreign direct investment from Europe.
