The foreign investment promotion agency InvestChile has announced that it will hold the VII International InvestChile Forum in 2024. The event, which seeks to bring together over 100 representatives of foreign companies and the local economy’s leading stakeholders, will be held May 15-17 and will include an inaugural conference featuring President Gabriel Boric, sectorial sessions and a matchmaking activity with over 200 meetings.
The agency has already launched the registration process for foreign companies that wish to participate in the event. This year’s forum will focus on promoting opportunities in the lithium industry, digital and technological infrastructure, infrastructure concessions, and clean energy and storage.
Each participating company -which must submit a proposal for a potential or developing investment project in Chile by February 23- will be able to access funding for their representatives’ stay and networking opportunities. The event also will feature the inaugural conference, which will include Chilean and foreign keynote speakers, panel discussions with companies that already have a presence in Chile, a private sectorial session where participants can meet with the leading public and private stakeholders from each industry and learn about their progress, opportunities and plans, and a matchmaking activity where they can meet with public entities and potential partners or suppliers.
It is important to note that Chile is the third leading recipient of foreign investment in Latin America and has made headlines by promoting sectors linked to minerals that are critical for climate change. (It is home to 48% of the world’s lithium reserves.) The country is also a leader in green energy generation, which places it among the most attractive emerging economies in this sector based on the Climatescope ranking. Chile also has become a digital hub for the region over the past few years, which has led to the installation of data centers and the exportation of services by leading multinational firms in this area. (InvestChile currently supports over 204 projects involving over US$5.6 billion, including 28 data center projects.) Chile also has a public portfolio of infrastructure projects that will generate 46 calls for tender through 2027 and represent estimated investments totaling US$19 billion.
The agency has identified the VII International InvestChile Forum as a space in which to accelerate companies’ decision-making and an exceptional opportunity for talking face to face with the individuals who design sectorial policies and develop their sectors of interest in the country.
The previous version of the event was attended by over 100 representatives of companies from 28 countries and 56 investment projects involving more than US$4 billion in high value sectors. Check out the best images of 2022.
