The Lord Mayor of London, Jeffrey Mountevans, led a business delegation that visited Chile between April 27 and 30 in a bid to tighten ties between the United Kingdom and Chile.
During his visit, the Lord Mayor, whose post positions him as the UK’s ambassador for financial services, met with Chile’s Economy Minister, Luis Felipe Céspedes, and the director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency, Vicente Mira.
In addition, he had meetings with Finance Minister Rodrigo Valdés and Central Bank Governor Rodrigo Vergara and visited Expomin, Latin America’s largest mining fair.
The United Kingdom is Chile’s sixth largest source of foreign direct investment while Chile is the UK’s second largest export market in Latin America.
