The deadline for receiving submarine and overland proposals is between July 17 and 31.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications (MTT) presented the new term sheets for the tender for the Southern Optical Fiber Project (FOA), a process that will begin shortly.
Under the calendar for the tender, bids for the submarine cable must be presented on July 17 and those for the overland deployment by July 31.
As the authorities have explained, the FOA project envisages the construction of a high-speed submarine digital highway, stretching 3,953 kilometers from Puerto Montt to Puerto Williams, in order to improve mobile data transmission in the far south of the country. The initiative also envisages a state subsidy of US$100 million.
The initiative seeks to build a high-speed submarine digital highway.
