Panelists at the event agreed in anticipating an improvement in economic conditions and the business environment in Chile in 2018.
The director of InvestChile, Carlos Álvarez V., was one of the speakers at a breakfast organized by the Chilean-British Chamber of Commerce. The event, which took place in Santiago on May 26, brought together leading local experts to analyze the outlook for investment in Chile in 2018.
The panel was opened by chief economist at BTG Pactual, Luis Óscar Herrera, who was followed by Banco Santander economist, Gabriel Cestau. The event concluded with a presentation by Carlos Álvarez on Opportunities and Challenges for Diversifying Foreign Investment.
In their respective interventions, the local experts agreed on the outlook for an improvement in economic conditions and the business environment in Chile next year and also drew attention to the advantages which Chile offers for foreign investors.
The United Kingdom is Chile’s sixth largest source of foreign investment while Chile is the UK’s second most important export market in South America.
